Blood Haematological-Cholesterol Profile And Antibody Titer Response Of Broilers With Added Probiotic Containing Both Bacteria And Yeast Or An Antibiotic In Drinking Water, Sarinee Kalandakanond-Thongsong, Boonrit Thongsong, Vivat Chavananikul Dec 2008

Blood Haematological-Cholesterol Profile And Antibody Titer Response Of Broilers With Added Probiotic Containing Both Bacteria And Yeast Or An Antibiotic In Drinking Water, Sarinee Kalandakanond-Thongsong, Boonrit Thongsong, Vivat Chavananikul

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

An experiment was conducted to investigate the haematological and cholesterol profiles and antibody titer responses to both Newcastle disease (ND) and Infectious bronchitis (IB) vaccines in broiler chickens after drinking water supplemented with either a commercial probiotic (an Active Elements®; AE) containing Lactobacillus plantarum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, an antibiotic Chlortetracycline (CTC), or the probiotic plus the antibiotic. Four hundred one-day-old male Cobb broiler chicks were randomly allocated to 4 treatment groups designated as follow: a non-treated control (T1), a 0.05% CTC (T2), a 1:500 AE (T3), and a combination of 0.05% CTC and 1:500 AE (T4), respectively. The chicks were …

Effects Of The Addition Of Probiotic Containing Both Bacteria And Yeast Or An Antibiotic On Performance Parameters, Mortality Rate And Antibiotic Residue In Broilers, Boonrit Thongsong, Sarinee Kalandakanond-Thongsong, Vivat Chavananikul Mar 2008

Effects Of The Addition Of Probiotic Containing Both Bacteria And Yeast Or An Antibiotic On Performance Parameters, Mortality Rate And Antibiotic Residue In Broilers, Boonrit Thongsong, Sarinee Kalandakanond-Thongsong, Vivat Chavananikul

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

The experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of supplementing a commercially available probiotic (an Active Elements®; AE) containing Lactobacillus plantarum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, an antibiotic; Chlortetracycline (CTC), and the probiotic plus antibiotic, via the drinking water on broiler production performance, mortality rate and the antibiotic residue in meat. Four hundred one-day-old male Cobb broiler chicks were randomly allocated to 4 treatments; a non-treated control, a 0.05% CTC, a 1:500 AE, and a combination of CTC and AE. Chicks were fed with a commercial broiler diet ad libitum. They were reared under an environmentally controlled house for 6 weeks. The …

The Effects Of Dietary Inclusion Of Hydrated Aluminosilicate On Performance And Biochemical Parameters Of Broiler Chickens, Dejan Prvulovic, Danijela Kojic, Gordana Grubor-Lajsic, Slavica Kosarcic Jan 2008

The Effects Of Dietary Inclusion Of Hydrated Aluminosilicate On Performance And Biochemical Parameters Of Broiler Chickens, Dejan Prvulovic, Danijela Kojic, Gordana Grubor-Lajsic, Slavica Kosarcic

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This study investigated the effects of dietary supplementation with hydrated aluminosilicate (antitoxic nutrient-ATN), based on zeolitic ore (of > 90% clinoptilolite), bentonite (of > 83% montmorillonite), and small amounts of activated charcoal, on performance, hematological, serum, and liver biochemical parameters, as well as organ weights and meat quality in broiler chickens. The study included 300 1-day-old broilers of both sexes, which were assigned at random to 2 groups based on treatment: no dietary supplementation (control) and supplementation with 5 g/kg of ATN (ATN group). Dietary supplementation with 5 g/kg of ATN in broiler diets significantly increased weight gain only during the 1{st} …

Mannan Oligosaccharides (Mos) From Saccharomyces Cerevisiae In Broilers: Effects On Performance And Blood Biochemistry, İlkay Yalçinkaya, Tüli̇n Güngör, Mehmet Başalan, Evren Erdem Jan 2008

Mannan Oligosaccharides (Mos) From Saccharomyces Cerevisiae In Broilers: Effects On Performance And Blood Biochemistry, İlkay Yalçinkaya, Tüli̇n Güngör, Mehmet Başalan, Evren Erdem

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of mannan oligosaccharides (MOSs), which are commonly used as alternatives to antibiotics, on the growth performance and some blood parameters in broiler chickens. The study included 120 Ross 308 male broiler chicks (1-day-old at the beginning of the study). There were 4 treatment groups, each consisting of 3 replicates. MOSs were added at the level of 0.05%, 0.10%, and 0.15% to the starter and finisher diets. The experiment lasted 42 days. Body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were not significantly different (P > 0.05) between MOS treatment …
