Amino Acid Profile Of Rabbit Meat: Dietary Intake And The Effect Of Freezing On The Amino Acid Composition, Alaa Eldin M.A. Morshdy, Wageh Sobhy Darwish, El Sayed S. El Sebay, El-Shaimaa Mesallam Ali

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Rabbit meat is considered as a healthy meat due to its high protein and low fat content. This study aimed at demonstrating the amino acids profile in three rabbit breeds, namely New Zealand White, California and Balady rabbits marketed in Egypt. In addition, the estimated daily intake (EDI) of amino acids due to the consumption of the rabbit meat were calculated. Furthermore, the effect of long frozen storage for different periods on the amino acid content of the New Zealand White rabbit meat was investigated as an experimental trial. The obtained results indicate a slight variation in the amino acid …

Effects Of Amino Acid And Energy Intake During Late Gestation On Piglet Birth Weight And Reproductive Performance Of Gilts And Sows Housed Under Commercial Conditions, M. A. Goncalves, K. M. Gourley, S. S. Dritz, M. D. Tokach, N. M. Bello, J. M. Derouchey, J. C. Woodworth, R. D. Goodband Jan 2015

Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station Research Reports

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of amino acid (AA) and energy intake during late gestation on piglet birth weight and reproductive performance of high-performing gilts and sows housed under commercial conditions. At d 90 of gestation, a total of 1,102 females (PIC 1050) were housed in pens by parity group (P1 or P2+), blocked by weight within each pen, and each female was randomly assigned to dietary treatments within weight block. Dietary treatments consisted of combinations of 2 standardized ileal digestible (SID) AA (10.7 or 20.0 g SID Lys intake/d with other AA meeting or …

Content And Apparent Ileal Digestibility Of Protein And Amino Acids In Diets Fed To Parent Stock Of Farm-Raised Polar Foxes (Alopex Lagopus L.), Katarzyna Burlikowska, Roman Szymeczko, Anna Piotrowska, Ewa Swiech, Monika Boguslawska-Tryk, Beata Glowinska Jan 2013

Content And Apparent Ileal Digestibility Of Protein And Amino Acids In Diets Fed To Parent Stock Of Farm-Raised Polar Foxes (Alopex Lagopus L.), Katarzyna Burlikowska, Roman Szymeczko, Anna Piotrowska, Ewa Swiech, Monika Boguslawska-Tryk, Beata Glowinska

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This study aimed to compare content and apparent ileal digestibility of protein and amino acids in diets used over 1 year (4 feeding periods) on 2 farms of reproductive polar foxes (A and B). Two diets (1 from farm A, 1 from farm B) from the same feeding period were tested in succession (4 eight-day digestibility experiments) on 5 polar foxes with 'end-to-end' ileorectal anastomosis. The main protein sources were poultry, fish, and beef offal in diets A and beef offal in diets B. In diets A, considerably higher content of protein and total essential and nonessential amino acids was …

In Vitro And In Vivo Effects Of Serine And Threonine On Follicle Growth, Differentiation And Atresia, Hüseyi̇n Baki̇ Çi̇ftçi̇ Jan 2004

In Vitro And In Vivo Effects Of Serine And Threonine On Follicle Growth, Differentiation And Atresia, Hüseyi̇n Baki̇ Çi̇ftçi̇

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This work was designed to test the effect of serine and threonine on follicle growth, differentiation and atresia under in vitro and in vivo conditions. Two experiments were conducted. In the first experiment, follicles 90-120 µm in diameter, from 21-day old mice, were dissected mechanically and cultured individually for 7 days. Follicles were subjected to 4 different treatments. Follicles in medium without amino acids and gonadotrophins were assigned as control groups. Follicles in medium with PMSG and without amino acids constituted a positive control whereas the other treatments were test groups. Every 24 h follicle diameters were measured and the …

The Effect Of Genetic Background On The In Vitro Development Of Mouse Embryos In Potassium Simplex Optimized Medium Supplemented With Amino Acids (Ksomaa), Haydar Bağiş, Hande Odaman Mercan, Hakan Sağirkaya, Gazi̇ Turgut, Andras Dinnyes Jan 2003

The Effect Of Genetic Background On The In Vitro Development Of Mouse Embryos In Potassium Simplex Optimized Medium Supplemented With Amino Acids (Ksomaa), Haydar Bağiş, Hande Odaman Mercan, Hakan Sağirkaya, Gazi̇ Turgut, Andras Dinnyes

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

In vitro culture systems are required for many biotechnological and assisted reproductive technologies. In order to perfect the conditions, the effect of genetic background was evaluated in the in vitro development of embryos from CD-1 and CB6F1 mice in potassium simplex optimized medium supplemented with amino acids (KSOMAA). Presumptive zygotes were recovered from superovulated and mated females (19-20 h post-hCG injection). Two-cell stage block, morula (M), expanded blastocyst (EB), and completely hatched blastocyst (CHB) rates and total cell count were compared in the two mouse strains. The development of CD-1 vs. CB6F1 embryos to 2-cell (98% vs. 96%) and to …
