Investigation Of Three Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms (1252 G>A, 2534 G>A, And 2569 T>C) Of The Mbl1 Gene In Anatolian Buffaloes, Esma Gamze Aksel, Bi̇lal Akyüz Dec 2023

Investigation Of Three Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms (1252 G>A, 2534 G>A, And 2569 T>C) Of The Mbl1 Gene In Anatolian Buffaloes, Esma Gamze Aksel, Bi̇lal Akyüz

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

It has been reported that since the MBL gene is involved in the first step of infection and inflammation processes, it may be associated with susceptibility to bacterial and viral diseases in living organisms. In this study, it was aimed to determine the genotypic variation of Anatolian buffaloes in terms of three (1252G>A, 2534 G>A, and 2569 T>C) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the MBL-1 gene. For this purpose, 103 Anatolian buffaloes were genotyped for relevant SNPs by PCR-RFLP process. The allele and genotype frequencies of the examined samples were determined, and the population was examined for …

Determination Of Virulence Genes And Antibiotic Resistance Profiles Of Streptococcus Agalactiae Isolated From Buffalo Milk, Nevi̇n Tuzcu, Hasan Hüseyi̇n Hadi̇mli̇, Beatri̇z Padron Aug 2023

Determination Of Virulence Genes And Antibiotic Resistance Profiles Of Streptococcus Agalactiae Isolated From Buffalo Milk, Nevi̇n Tuzcu, Hasan Hüseyi̇n Hadi̇mli̇, Beatri̇z Padron

Mastitis is a contagious disease that causes significant milk loss and serious economic damage in dairy animals. Streptococcus agalactiae causes clinical and subclinical mastitis in animals and infections in humans, especially adults, and newborns. This study aimed to confirm the identification of S. agalactiae isolates by PCR in buffalo milk; to determine the antibiotic resistance and virulence genes by multiplex PCR. The material of this study consisted of 30 (12%) S. agalactiae strains identified by phenotypic, biochemical, and PCR methods (rRNA-16S) from 250 isolates with bacterial growth from milk samples of buffaloes with mastitis. In addition, the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion …

The aim of this study was to investigate the polymorphism of the κ - casein gene (kappa casein, CSN3) in buffaloes and determine its effects on milk yield traits. Data were obtained from 2016 to 2019 from all animals in the ongoing Anatolian Buffalo Breeding Project. Genomic DNA was collected from a total of 209 buffaloes of different ages and sexes, namely 31 Murrah, 46 Anatolian buffaloes, and 132 of their crosses (Murrah × Anatolian). Genotyping of CSN3 gene by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR - RFLP) technique with restriction enzyme (AcuI) revealed three …

A Comparative Study Of Oocyte Between Native Cattle And Buffalo Species In Bangladesh: A Qualitative And Quantitative Approach, Zannatul Naim, Md Saiful Islam, Lam Yea Asad, Md Enayet Kabir

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

In vitro embryo production (IVP) can help alleviating reproductive difficulties in cattle and buffalo. This study compared qualitative and quantitative features of native cattle and buffalo ovaries and oocytes to understand them comprehensively. In addition, it was conducted to pick the ideal ovaries for oocyte collection and to assess either maturation affects oocyte diameter or not. The ovaries were collected from the local slaughterhouses of Dhaka city, Bangladesh. Next, the quantitative parameters of ovaries were measured, the follicular fluid was aspired, the oocytes were classified, and the diameters of oocytes were determined in both pre and postmaturation. Here, the results …
