Oral History Of Jeanne Arth Interview With Jeanne Arth, Allys Swanson, Sharon L. Van Oteghen

Jeanne Arth, educator-athlete, was inducted into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Women's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame on November 9, 2002. During her undergraduate years at the College of St. Catherine, Jeanne was National College Girls' Tennis Tournament Singles Finalist and Doubles Champion from 1954-1956. Ranked in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Top 10 from 1957-1958, Jeanne and her doubles partner, Darlene Hard, captured the USTA doubles title in 1958 and again in 1959. Also victorious at Wimbledon in 1959, the pair captured teh Wimbledon doubles crown.

Dr. Leroy T. Walker served as president of the American Alliance For Health, Physical Education and Recreation (AAHPER) from 1977 to 1978. The Association is now the American Alliance for Health , Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). He received an AAHPER Honor Award in 1972 and was awarded the Luther Halsey Gulick Medal in 1982. In 1985 Walker was recipient of the Charles D. Henry Award.

Dr. Earle Zeigler was recipient of an American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) Honor Award in 1981. He received the Hetherington Award in 1989 and the Luther Halsey Gulick Award in 1990. The Hetherington Award is granted by the American Academy of Physical Education (AAPE).
