Background: Pictograms are a graphical symbol that conveys a concept through its pictorial resemblance to a physical object, pictorial representation has shown to have a potential in enhancing patient knowledge. Methodology: The systematic review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. Randomized controlled trials including participants over 18 years older were included in the review. RCTs were included as it reduces certain type of bias by randomly allocating the participants. Research into health outcomes of Arab-descent Americans (ADAs) is sparse. ADAs identify as “White,” instead of in a separate census category, contributing to their underrepresentation in the census and the limited amount of research on their health outcomes. In the current U.S. sociopolitical climate, better understandings are needed of the impact of discrimination and Arabic culture, including level of health literacy, on ADAs’ general health and health outcomes. Objectives: We investigated whether there is a measurable difference in medication utilization for psychiatric conditions before and after bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Previous studies have identified a potential association between psychiatric conditions and immune function. We hypothesized that medication utilization for psychiatric diagnoses would be impacted by BMT.

Methods: This study was a retrospective, quasi-experimental cohort design. De-identified data was compiled from the Truven database for patients ranging from January 2009 through December 2016.
