The purpose of this paper is to discuss the DNP project, which focused on improving communication skills for associate degree nursing students. The background and significance of this problem was identified, a systematic review of the literature was completed, and TeamSTEPPS, based on the body of evidence, was implemented in a clinical immersion setting. The project objectives were to implement communication techniques, using TeamSTEPPS, as recommended from the body of evidence.
