The management of multifocal glioblastomas is a point of constant discussion amongst neuro-oncologists. Best outcomes in glioblastoma management come from gross total resection (GTR) followed by concomitant radiation and chemotherapy (CCRT). Multifocal disease is resistant to GTR. Conventional management of these lesion is usually biopsy only followed by CCRT. Recent evidence has shown that there may be some benefit to attempting GTR of the largest lesion whenever safe to do so.

Objective: To study the frequency of the thigh, hip and groin soft tissue sarcomas and retrospectively analyse the management, treatment results, and outcomes of these uncommon malignant tumours, in a tertiary care hospital of the city of Karachi.
Methodology: Data of soft tissue tumours registered from 2017-2018 was retrieved during January 2019 to March 2019 from Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi bone and soft tissue tumour registry. A retrospective review was performed and all soft tissue tumour cases treated with surgical intervention (with adjuvant /neoadjuvant therapy) or palliative intention were included.

Optimal management of craniopharyngioma is challenging and requires multidisciplinary efforts for a successful outcome. The debate over radical versus a conservative resection followed by radiotherapy, continues. Current literature reports no difference in disease freedom and overall survival between the two surgical viewpoints, and favours conservative resection and radiotherapy, leading to lower morbidity and superior functional outcomes.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the clinical profiles and outcomes of pediatric brainstem gliomas treated at our institute.
Methodology: We reviewed the files of 18 pediatric age group patients diagnosed with brainstem glioma at our institution. The following variables were recorded: age, sex, duration of symptoms, date of diagnosis, main clinical symptoms, Karnofsky performance status score, magnetic resonance imaging findings, histopathology findings, details of the treatment given, disease progression, and date of mortality/last follow-up. This data were then transferred to SPSS version 23 which was used for further analysis.

Merkel cell carcinoma is an aggressive non-melanomatous cutaneous tumour of neuroendocrine origin with an increasing incidence in the recent years. It is a tumour of the elderly and immunosuppressed, which most often appears on sun-exposed areas of the body. The clinical features of the cutaneous or subcutaneous lesions hardly contribute to the diagnosis, and, hence, histopathology and immunohistochemistry play a vital role in diagnosis. Primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare and aggressive brain tumour that is uniformly fatal. The rarity of the disease and the poor response to treatment makes it difficult to reach a consensus with regards to treatment options. In this review, the authors have discussed different treatment modalities used in the management of PCNSL including chemotherapy, surgery and radiation, as well as the results of recent clinical trials on treatment options for PCNSL.

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), is a rare, highly malignant skin tumour, with a poor prognosis. Though the aetiology of MCC is not known, but there are several features that it shares with melanoma. These include the natural history, clinical features and behaviour, e.g. an early spread to nodal sites, high local recurrence rate and early metastasis. Incidence of MCC is seen to be increased in immunosuppressed transplant patients, in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and in B cell malignancies, with a strong male predominance.
