Practical nursing program students at a rural vocational school (RCC) in the midwestern United States were graduating at a low rate that was putting the school at risk to not meet accreditation standards set by the Council on Occupational Education. The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of practical nursing program students and faculty at RCC about institutional, situational, and dispositional supports and barriers students faced toward graduation. Interprofessional education of students in healthcare professions can lead to positive outcomes for students that are unique in a university setting. The purpose of this thesis is to describe benefits and challenges students encounter when working with students of other majors. This study used a convenience sample of students working on a university project to implement mHealth. Participants responded to two surveys with quantitative and qualitative questions. Students reported greater appreciation for diversity, the necessity of communication skills, and self-awareness of their own responsibilities in a team.

Study groups formed independently by students outside the classroom environment have been reported to provide some positive assistance to the learning process. This study was conducted to define the frequency that students use such study groups, to establish any relationship between using study groups and academic outcome, and to identify any themes common to the participants when describing their perceptions and experiences with study groups. The study utilized a previously-published survey tool acquired from the public domain. Forty-five ADN students enrolled at a private, Christian university participated in this study.
