Palliative care interventions are in high demand due to patients living longer with chronic, life-limiting conditions. Nursing professionals are instrumental in the care of patients across their lifespan, and it is imperative that they receive end-of-life care training in their respective curriculums. The aims of this project were to 1) implement end-of-life content into an AGACNP program using the ELNEC curriculum and 2) to determine if the simulated environment affects the AGACNP students’ self-confidence and anxiety levels when making clinical decisions for end-of-life patients. This evidence-based project sought to evaluate resilience in freshmen college students enrolled in a Bridge scholar program (BSP) in a liberal arts university in the southeastern United States. The American College Health Association (ACHA) found that stress and anxiety were the top two indicators for impacting academics in 2019 and had been at the top since 2009 at the university of study (ACHA, 2019). The study used a pretest and posttest design method with the implementation of a five-week resilience education intervention. Assessing The Impact Of Simulation Role On Anxiety And Perceived Outcomes In Undergraduate Nursing Students, Teresa A. Bates

Background: Due to large class sizes and limited resources, students participating in high-fidelity simulation experiences may be assigned to an observer role as opposed to an active, nursing role. It is important for educators to determine if anxiety levels and student learning outcomes are comparable regardless of role.

Methods: A quasi-experimental correlational study composed of 132 prelicensure baccalaureate students was conducted.

Results: There were no significant differences between simulation roles for anxiety levels and perceived outcomes for satisfaction, self-confidence in learning, clinical ability, problem solving, confidence in clinical practice, and collaboration.

The rigorous educational experience of nursing school can cause stress and anxiety for nursing students. Identifying techniques to help decrease stress and anxiety during a nursing program can be beneficial to the students’ overall health and mental well-being as well as to their academic success. A quasi-experimental design was utilized to examine if a peer evaluation technique (PET) during clinical skill practice sessions decreases anxiety prior to the students’ skill performance evaluation with nursing faculty.
