Incivility in nursing education is a growing occurrence that is shown to have profound negative effects on the entire nursing profession. This is a cycle that starts in nursing school and left unchecked carries forward into the workplace. Uncivil behavior is experienced by students, faculty, and peers. The numbers of students with learning disabilities (LD) in post-secondary education settings is rising (National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), 2016). The Americans with Disabilities Act, Amendments Act was passed in 2008, since that time little research has been done to reflect any impact of the original ADA (1990) being amended. Research is needed about the experiences of students with learning disabilities in higher education, and more specifically nursing education. This loose leaf notebook contains handwritten lecture notes by a student who took a series of nursing courses in 1924 and 1925. The name on the front cover is L. Bacon. On the very first page, L. Bacon noted that the courses regarded "Practical Nursing: Theory and Practice of Nursing." The notes are extremely practical: how to make a patient's bed, how to take a patient's pulse, how to give an injection, etc.
