Alzheimer's disease presently affects four million people in this country. This disease not only affects the patient, but it also has a profound effect on the family. The caregiver could potentially spend two decades caring for the Alzheimer disease patient. Provision of this care can cause feelings of loneliness and despair for the caregiver. The caregiver should be encouraged to seek support from family and community programs to ease the burden of caregiving and to improve quality of life. Little is known about what makes teens experiment with sex earlier and earlier in their lives. These young girls are faced with the burden and responsibility of parenthood at a time in their lives when they are coping poorly with their own developmental tasks. The teen's perception of family functioning may have a direct impact upon adolescent risk for pregnancy. This study investigated the relationship between family functioning and pregnancy among 13- to 19-year-olds using the Family Apgar Questionnaire. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a baccalaureate nursing program on the knowledge and attitudes of United States nursing students towards HIV/AIDS. Mathematics and engineering majors were used as a comparison group and to control the threats to internal validity of history and maturation. Data for this study was obtained using an AIDS Knowledge Scale and an AIDS Attitude Scale in the form of questionnaires. A convenience sample of 103 students comprised of 30 sophomore nursing students, 34 senior nursing students, 16 sophomore Non nursing students and 23 senior non-nursing students was utilized. The …
