Approximately 13 million people worldwide receive treatment in intensive care units (ICUs) annually. Many patients admitted to the intensive care unit require mechanical ventilation for their survival and attempts to mobilize these critically ill patients is frequently restricted for their own safety. It has been suggested that this lack of mobility may have a significant negative impact on the recovery process and lengthen the time of the patient’s overall hospital stay and recovery. Additionally, survivors report significant physical impairments and deconditioning that present obstacles towards their recovery and well-being after prolonged ventilation.

BACKGROUND: Despite the benefits of breastfeeding, early weaning is a reality, so less than 50% of children worldwide and in Brazil are on exclusive breastfeeding in the sixth month of life. A strategy to counteract this scenario is breastfeeding counseling. This study aims to verify the effectiveness of individualized counseling by nurses trained in breastfeeding counseling, on the duration of exclusive breastfeeding, compared to standard care.

In adult populations (18-65), does the administration of antidepressants, compared to not administering antidepressants, reduce the severity of the Covid-19 infection? Current treatment protocols for Covid-19 virus are still new and needing improvement. Discovering a new pharmacologic approach has been on the forefront of medical research since the beginning of the pandemic.
