Evaluation Of Breastfeeding Interventions To Improve Duration In Women At Risk For Breastfeeding Attrition, Anthonia Anukam
Evaluation Of Breastfeeding Interventions To Improve Duration In Women At Risk For Breastfeeding Attrition, Anthonia Anukam

Children that are optimally breastfed have the healthiest start in life. The World Health Organization and the CDC recommend that mothers optimally breastfeed. Benefits of breastfeeding to children include the receipt of antibodies, reduction of ear, respiratory, and gastrointestinal infections, decreased sudden infant death syndrome, allergies, diabetes, and childhood leukemia. Several research studies have reported a strong positive correlation between breastfeeding and reduced infant morbidity and mortality. Evidence illustrates that the health benefits from breastfeeding are dose-dependent, thus the longer the breastfeeding duration the greater the acquisition of the enumerated benefits. However, premature cessation of breastfeeding less than the WHO …

Atrial fibrillation, also known as A-Fib or AF, is a cardiovascular abnormality that is characterized by an abnormal heart rhythm or muscle contractions in the atria. These abnormalities are a result of disorganized electrical impulses. AF has various causes including, but not limited to, hypertension (HTN), heart surgery, thyroid disorders, heart defects, and acute alcohol ingestion. Persons with AF are often asymptomatic; however, some patients report heart palpitations, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and lightheadedness. A review of literature was conducted in order to determine the availability of risk factors, patient education, and treatment of AF.

Effect Of An Intervention To Improve Smoking Cessation Treatment In A Federally Qualified Healthcare Clinic, Shirley A. Camp

Abstract
Significant progress has been made in the reduction of tobacco use in the United States, but the smoking prevalence among the socially and economically disadvantaged populations (i.e. individuals who are homeless, uninsured, LGBT, and living with HIV) is significantly higher than the general population (CDC, 2018b). As a result, these vulnerable populations carry a disproportionate burden of tobacco-related mortality and morbidity (CDC, 2018b). There is a cost-effective and evidence-based treatment for tobacco use dependence (Fiore et al, 2008), but the delivery by primary care providers to this population is inconsistent (Tyman, Bonevski, Paul, & Bryant, 2014). This study focused …

Abstract
This quality improvement (QI) project evaluated the length of stay (LOS) of low-risk chest pain (CP) patients in a rural hospital. A convenience sample of emergency department (ED) physicians and non-physician providers ages 18-75 employed at Navicent Health Baldwin were eligible for recruitment. Pre- and post-surveys were used to evaluate to evaluate ED providers’ knowledge of low-risk chest pain metrics for statistical significance and a comparison of LOS for low-risk chest pain patients was compared for clinical and statistical significance seen at the facility. The mean scores of eight items on the postintervention to preintervention knowledge survey were identical. …

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Georgia College & State University (GC&SU) Nursing Program, a non-experimental, survey research study was conducted by senior nursing students in the Nursing Research class. The survey evaluated the teaching and learning strategies used in the program, the students' perceptions of preparedness for nursing after graduation, and the students' perceptions of the strengths and weaknesses of the GC&SU nursing curriculum. Each participant signed an informed consent form. Forty-five out of a possible 142 nursing students responded to the survey. A statistical analysis of the responses was conducted and comparisons of answers were analyzed …
