The purpose of this scholarly project is to increase the willingness of healthcare providers to introduce alternative and complementary pain management to their patients. Two patient video tools were constructed and offered to healthcare providers to evaluate and potentially utilize the final products in their practice. One tool introduced music therapy, the other mindful meditation, along with resources for patients to investigate and learn from on their own. The purpose of this project was to facilitate the implementation of a successful telehealth education program in a pre-licensure nursing program at a regional university in the Midwest. The project took place at Pittsburg State University Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing. Participants included eighty-six undergraduate senior students in their last semester of nursing school enrolled in Community Health Nursing preparing to begin their nursing career. The purpose of this project was to ascertain whether providing education to licensed nurses and certified nurse aide staff in nursing homes results in an increased awareness and recognition of depression and depressive symptoms among the nursing home population. A descriptive research design was used to identify knowledge of nursing staff in long-term nursing home facilities before and after depression and depressive symptom education. The study utilized a one-group pre-test/post-test design with nursing home staff that interact with nursing home residents during a normal workday. The purpose of this study was to increase PPSV23 vaccination rates in adults over the age of 65 years in a Midwestern primary care clinic.

For this project, staff was educated regarding interventions including patient awareness, provider recommendation, staff and provider education, vaccine access, use of the immunization information systems (IIS) and appropriate use of electronic health record (EHR) reminders that have been shown to increase vaccination rates.

OIH is an elevated pain response because of high dosage or chronic use of opioids. Opioids are a problem not only in the United States but throughout the world; addiction, constipation, and overdose are the most frequently mentioned consequences of opioids. Parents and coaches of youth athletes are often tasked with monitoring, treating, and managing youth athletes who are suffering from a concussion.
