Previous research has looked at various treatment remedies for improving acute ankle Dorsiflexion Range of Motion (DFROM) post chronic Lateral Ankle Sprain (LAS). Mulligan’s Mobilisation with Movement (MWM) appears frequently however, the significance and mechanism remain quite conflicting (Gilbreath et al., 2015). It is also known that after a LAS, the Lateral Ligament Complex (LLC) is compromised and the calcaneus inverts, increasing stiffness of plantarfascia (Al-Mohrej & Al-Kenani, 2016, Denegar et al., 2002, Loudon & Bell, 1996). Background. Chronic pain (CP) is a major public health problem that affects one-third of the population and can interfere with the activities of daily life and cause decreased quality of life. Patients with CP have been increasingly prescribed opioids, contributing to the rise in the opioid epidemic. Due to the long-term nature of CP, the use of opioids as the sole treatment for CP can cause tolerance and increased dosages overtime which can lead to addiction and potentially overdose. In this review of twenty research articles, the effects of moderate exercise therapy on the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease will be explored. Appropriate literature was located using the research question, “In older adults with a Parkinson’s Disease Diagnosis, how does moderate exercise influence the symptoms of this disease?” Twenty peer-reviewed research articles were examined for the impact of different forms of exercise on various symptoms associated with Parkinson’s. Nineteen of the articles reviewed provide substantial evidence in support of exercise therapy as a treatment option for people with Parkinson’s, and one of the articles found inconclusive evidence neither in support …

Glioblastoma is reported to be the most aggressive and common brain tumor in adults (Davis, 2016). To help alleviate pain in patients with glioblastoma, floatation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) is proposed. Such therapy has been shown to benefit chronic tension headaches, muscle tension, and other stress-related pain conditions (Feinstein, 2018). The magnesium and sulfate components of Epsom salt combined with controlled warm water allow the muscles and joints to relax. Studies show that magnesium targets the Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) produced by the Anterior Pituitary Gland which in turn affects cortisol hormone levels to activate the body's immune defenses and eliminate …

The purpose of this study was to observe how FES can improve the side effect of drop foot resulting from a stroke. It was hypothesized that FES can improve the side effect of drop foot caused by a stroke. This study was a randomized, quantitative experimental design study that consisted of two groups whose participants were recruited from local physical therapy clinics: FES group (10 participants) and control group (10 participants). The spinal cord serves as the primary neural communication pathway between the brain and most of the rest of the body. Injury to this region of the spinal column can elicit severe, debilitating conditions. According to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (2018), a spinal cord injury (SCI) is characterized by an injury or disease process of the spinal cord that results in altered motor, sensory, or autonomic functioning (or some combination of these).
