Introduction. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is one of life-threatening acute complication of diabetes mellitus (DM) characterized by hyperglycemia, ketosis, and acidosis. The prevalence of DM is increasing, therefore the incidence of DKA is predicted to continue to increase. The aim of this study was to obtain the profile of DKA patients in RSUP Prof. Dr. IGNG. Ngoerah (RSPN), Denpasar, Bali as a tertiary refferal hospital of Bali and Nusa Tenggara region.

Patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 generally receive antibiotic therapy with consideration of the possibility of co-infection or secondary bacterial infection which clinically is difficult to distinguish from COVID-19 symptoms. Overuse of antibiotics can lead to an increased risk of bacterial resistance to antibiotics which is associated with poor outcomes in COVID-19 patients. Decreasing fertility rates and increasing life expectancy cause an increase in the population of the elderly, with the number of elderly in the world is estimated to increase from 9.3% in 2020 to 16.0% in 2050. 24.35% of the elderly in Indonesia experience illness, and 8.71% have been hospitalized in one year. Introduction. Sepsis is defined as organ dysfunction caused by dysregulation of the host’s response to infection. The majority of sepsis are experienced by elderly patients with high mortality rates. In the condition of sepsis, there are various body mechanisms that cause a decrease in albumin and hemoglobin. Red cell distribution width (RDW) is associated with mortality in patients with septic shock and community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
