Comparative Study Between Immediate Versus Post Puerperium Intrauterine Contraceptive Device Insertion During Caesarean Section, Mohamed Mohamed Gebreel, Samir Khamis Galal, Tamer Mohsen Elnahas, Hany Mohammed Mohammed Abo Hamed

Background: An intrauterine device (IUD) is a reliable reversible method of birth control. We assessed the effectiveness and security of cesarean delivery immediate postplacental IUD implantation. A long-term, reversible method of birth control is the copper intrauterine device, or IUD. Typically, copper IUDs are constructed of T-shaped plastic with certain areas exposed copper. Women had few long-term choices for safe, effective birth control prior to the development of the first IUDs. These largely relied on oral birth control pills and barrier techniques, which were only effective when taken appropriately and regularly.

Aim: The study's objective was to evaluate the effectiveness …

Misoprostol Prior To Elective Cesarean Section To Reduce Transient Tachypnea Of Newborn, Mohammed Fares Ibrahim Elnahas, Mofeed Fawzy Mohammed, Wael Solaiman Taha, Abdelsattar Abdullah Elsayeh Jan 2023

Misoprostol Prior To Elective Cesarean Section To Reduce Transient Tachypnea Of Newborn, Mohammed Fares Ibrahim Elnahas, Mofeed Fawzy Mohammed, Wael Solaiman Taha, Abdelsattar Abdullah Elsayeh

Al-Azhar International Medical Journal

Background: The danger of respiratory diseases in the newborn, such as respiratory distress syndrome, is increased when the mother chooses to have the baby before 39 weeks of gestation through an elective caesarean section. Prostaglandins are helpful for the developing lungs because they stimulate the release of the stress hormone catecholamines, which in turn increases the production of the protective molecule surfactant. Nonetheless, the efficacy of antenatal preventive injections of prostaglandin is still debatable in clinical practice.

Aim of the study: to assess the effectiveness of vaginal misoprostol in preventing transitory tachypnea in newborns prior to elective caesarean section.

Ante Natal Prediction Of Intra Pelvic Adhesion Prior To Caesarean Section, Samar Hassan Hussein, Faisal Moustafa Ali, Mahmoud Mohamed Ahmed Fouad Jan 2023

Ante Natal Prediction Of Intra Pelvic Adhesion Prior To Caesarean Section, Samar Hassan Hussein, Faisal Moustafa Ali, Mahmoud Mohamed Ahmed Fouad

Al-Azhar International Medical Journal

Background: One of the most frequent obstetric procedures is the caesarean section (CS). Abdominal adhesion formation is thought to be at risk due to CS.

Aim: to evaluate intrapelvic adhesion with prior CS or any other pelvic surgery was predicted using clinical data and an ultrasound sliding sign.

Patients& methods: In this cross sectional study, conducted between 2019 and 2022 enrolled 500 pregnant-women with previous-pelvic surgery and planned to CS. Thorough history and clinical evaluation were done. Preoperative evaluation of striae gravidarum severity using Davey score. Ultrasound assessment for sliding sign was done. Intraoperatively, severity of intrapelvic adhesion was done …

Comparative Study Between Oral And Vaginal Administration Of Misoprostol In The Induction Of Labour In Cases With Premature Rupture Of Membranes (Prom), Diaa Maged Fakhr, Ismael Talaat El-Garhy, Fahd Abdel-Aal Elomda, Hany Abdelhakim Abdelrahman, Nesreen Ahmed Mostafa Rashed Jan 2023

Comparative Study Between Oral And Vaginal Administration Of Misoprostol In The Induction Of Labour In Cases With Premature Rupture Of Membranes (Prom), Diaa Maged Fakhr, Ismael Talaat El-Garhy, Fahd Abdel-Aal Elomda, Hany Abdelhakim Abdelrahman, Nesreen Ahmed Mostafa Rashed

Al-Azhar International Medical Journal

Background: Cervical ripening is mediated by membrane-bound G-coupled receptor prostaglandins. Boost leukocyte extravasation and collagenase. Biochemical mechanisms alter the distribution of proteoglycan and collagen, allowing cervical effacement and dilatation. The use of PG gel for induction began in the 1980s. Prior to the 1990s, oral PG was avoided for induction of labour due to its unpleasant gastrointestinal effects. Oral route may improve mother satisfaction more than vaginal route. Aim: What is the difference between the effect of oral and vaginal misoprostol for induction of labor in pregnant females with PROM regarding efficacy, safety, maternal and fetal outcomes? Subject and Methods: …
