Entrapment Of A Partially Degloved Stent In The Radial Artery: Is There Any Way Out?, Nooraldaem Yousif, Husam A. Noor

Stent loss during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is uncommon but may lead to serious adverse events. Here we describe a challenging case of stent loss in the radial artery during primary PCI. There, a long stent failed to cross the culprit lesion, and an attempt to pull back the undeployed stent into the guiding catheter resulted in eversion of the stent, partially stripping it off the stent balloon and rendering the stent irretrievable. Retrieval of the stent at all costs might have led to major complications; hence stent deployment in the radial artery bailed us out of this precarious situation.

Objectives:
Speckle-tracking imaging is a novel method for assessing left ventricular (LV) function and ischemic changes. The aim of this prospective study was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of global longitudinal strain (GLS) and regional longitudinal strain (RLS) parameters at rest in comparison to stress echocardiography findings for detecting significant coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM).
Methods:
We prospectively studied echocardiographic characteristics at rest with Speckle tracking echocardiography (2D STE) measures ; then stress echocardiography and coronary angiography data in 34 diabetic patients without regional wall motion abnormality (RWMA) at rest. Patients were grouped according to …

Coronary Artery Ectasia With Acute Myocardial Infarction, A Case Report, Maysan Mohammed Almegbel, Fawaz Qabel Almutairi

Coronary artery ectasia (CAE), also known as aneurysmal coronary artery disease, is defined as an abnormal diffuse (ectasia) or segmental (aneurysmal) dilatation of any branch of the coronary arteries. It is a well-recognized entity with 1.2-4.9% prevalence. Our case is a 46year old male with no prior medical problem who presented to the ER with inferior ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The Coronary angiogram revealed multiple ectatic segments in the right coronary artery (RCA) with 100% stenosis in the middle segment. Upon wiring the RCA a big clot burden was noted on the ectatic segment. We planned to keep him …

Background: SYNTAX score II (SSII) is an update of the established SYNTAX score (SS) that uses clinical variables such as age, sex, creatinine clearance, left ventricular ejection fraction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and peripheral arterial disease. Furthermore, SSII has been proven to be a more powerful predictive tool than SS in patients with complex coronary artery disease (CAD). Carotid õntima-media thickness (CIMT) is a widely used noninvasive evidence for subclinical or early atherosclerosis, and it was proved to be an independent predictor for cardiovascular events. Most of the previously published articles studied the association between the CIMT with old cardiovascular …
