Introduction Vaccines against COVID -19 have been reported to cause venous thromboembolism (VTE). To our knowledge, this is the first case to report the massive, near-fatal Pulmonary Embolism (PE) associated with BNT162b2 Covid-19 (Pfizer/BioNTech) vaccine and discuss the associated risk factors for PE. Case 41-year-old, non-smoker, female on OCP, presented for syncope and seizure-like activity. Upon presentation, she was obtunded and tachypneic. Initial labs showed leukocytosis, mild anemia, and thrombocytopenia, respiratory and metabolic acidosis. She deteriorated quickly to cardiac arrest requiring Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and intubation. Tissue Plasminogen Activator administered for possible PE. Background and Objectives: Although countries around the world have been combatting the same COVID-19 pandemic over the last year, the triage approach taken by various Emergency Departments (ED) is unique. This paper outlines the guidelines followed by two tertiary care hospitals in Detroit, USA and Manipal, India. By comparing hospital triage implementation protocols, this paper offers insight regarding similarities and differences between Detroit and Manipal ED, as well as strategies to overcome respective challenges. Introduction: The two main challenges during the COVID 19 pandemic were to keep essential employees safe and to provide timely care to patients. We devised a novel urine specimen home pickup strategy for our patients with hematuria, irritative voiding symptoms as well as bladder cancer to address these issues. Methods: An employee dropped off necessary equipment for the urine sample to symptomatic patients’ houses. A clean catch specimen was collected and the sample left at the front door. The driver wearing PPE picked up the sample within 30 minutes and delivered it to the lab. Dipstick analysis was performed. Patients …
