Depression is the leading cause of disability in the United States for individuals aged 15 to 44 (Anxiety and Depression Association of America, 2023). The purpose of this evidence-based practice (EBP) project was to increase early identification of depression through implementation of universal depression screening, and to implement management strategies to decrease symptoms of depression. Purpose: Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as contributing factors to poor health outcomes in childhood and beyond. Many pediatric providers are aware of the importance of ACEs, yet most do not participate in routine screening. The goal of this project was to implement ACEs screening at a semi-rural pediatric primary care office, aiming to screen 50% of eligible patients over 6 weeks. Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed to extract data from clinical case records of AAs who visited the Vietnamese Health Center (VHC) between November 1, 2017 and November 1, 2018. Descriptive statistics were utilized to analyze the data.

We aimed to investigate the cost-effectiveness of bilateral prophylactic mastectomy (BPM) with and without different reconstruction for the purpose of determining which strategies represent value for money. We developed a decision analytic model to project the lifetime clinical and economic consequences of different strategies. The decision model was parameterized using 10-year follow up and cost data from Ontario administrative health databases and Ontario Cancer registry.
