Background: HIV is a blood-borne virus that is primarily spread through sexual contact, sharing intravenous drug syringes, and mother-to-child transmission (MTCT). HIV-1 or HIV-2 infections are the primary causes of HIV illness. Aim: To determine the prevalence of HIV among blood donors and Patients undergoing surgical procedures in Alhussien university hospital, identify the risk factors and predict the route of transmission.
