Problem: Nurses across the nation are being affected by an epidemic that often leads to severe, chronic pain. This is not an infectious disease, but mass amounts of preventable musculoskeletal injuries caused by repetitive movements such as lifting, repositioning, and transferring patients. These injuries lead to time away from work and increased costs for healthcare facilities. Education on proper lifting techniques provides nurses with the tools to reduce risk for injury.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine if reeducating nurses about proper lifting techniques reduces the occurrence of musculoskeletal injuries.

Misinformation regarding COVID-19 has clouded the judgment and perspectives of many individuals. At Ohio Northern University, a new interdisciplinary online elective course offers students the opportunity to gain evidence-based insight about the far-reaching implications of pandemics and COVID-19. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the impact that this course has made on student perspectives relating to various topics about pandemics and COVID-19.

Objective: This study categorizes goals (personal vs professional and long vs short-term) of student pharmacists. An increase in the proportion of long-term, professional goals is expected as students advance through the program.

Methods: Annual student goals were classified into categories (personal vs professional and long vs short term). Definitions were developed and a beta-test was conducted to confirm interpretations were consistent between raters. Annual Evaluation Of The Student's Perception Of The Value Of Writing Goals, Renee Kuess

Focus: This study focused on pharmacy students’ perception of the value of writing goals and how this perception changes as students progress in the program.

Methods: Annually, all students in the pharmacy program are required to reflect on the previous year’s goals and develop new goals. Following this assignment, a survey was sent out to a random sample (n=162) of students. Based on the feedback, the response was classified as indicating “value” or “no value”.

Results: Of the 162 surveys sent out, there were 78 completed responses. 56.25% of responses indicated the student found “value” in the assignment. The data …
