Winter Warfare Training (WWT) is a critical component of military training to prepare individuals to move effectively in harsh conditions. Moving through snow and heavy terrain increases overall stress to the entire human system. PURPOSE: The purpose of this effort was to quantify the stress response during WWT to determine the level of physiological adaptation to extreme environments. METHODS: Mountain and mobility operators (age: 31.5±1.4 years; height: 71.1±0.5 inches; weight: 192.5±6.6 lbs.; body fat percentage: 18.0±5.0%) were recruited for this effort. The objective of this study was to pilot-test and assess implementation of a nutrition-specific D&I science training.

Participants (students enrolled in nutrition and public health programs) completed pre/post surveys and exit interviews. Descriptive statistics and a qualitative thematic analysis used deductive coding; in which coding and theme development are directed by existing concepts. This study aims to understand how prepared and confident local students are to respond to a medical emergency. Participants consisted of undergraduate students who had no healthcare or nursing school experience. However, if performed inaccurately can potentially jeopardize the well-being of the neonate. Mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPK) are intramuscular cell signaling proteins that regulate adaptations to resistance exercise (RE). The MAPKs extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2), c-jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), p90RSK, and p38-MAPK increase during and after RE. Despite the well-known increase in post-RE phosphorylation responses of MAPK, the time-course and pattern of their activation remains unclear and poorly described. Purpose: Longitudinal patient-partnered experiences may promote medical student empathy, but evaluation of such programs is limited. The aim of this study was to compare areas of learning among first-year medical students randomized to a patient-centered track (PCT) or traditional track (TT) longitudinal clinical experience.

To evaluate the impact of protocol training by a medical school and public health department on nurses’ perceptions to deliver care to patients with hypertension and diabetes.

Training was delivered using the Georgia Diabetes and Hypertension Nurse protocols for public health nurses. A survey was developed and distributed post training to participants. The training included lectures, workshops, case discussions, simulation, and physical examination practice on standardized patients. Participants were asked about perceptions, both before and after training completion regarding frequency in changing practice and confidence in treating hypertension and diabetes for six items.

Objective: To conduct an appraisal of current evidence regarding the effectiveness of EyeSi®-based training of vitreoretinal surgery.
Methods: The systematic review was conducted in July 2020, and comprised literature search on Cochrane Library, PubMed and Embase for articles regarding simulation training in vitreoretinal surgery. The shortlisted articles were subjected to qualitative analysis. Existing evidence was assessed, and predictions on how outcomes may be applied to improve vitreoretinal surgery training were made. This competency requires learners to apply their anesthesia knowledge to take medical histories; perform physical examinations; diagnose anesthetic risks; and generate anesthesia plans.
