This paper investigates the effect of urban areas on local climate by examining the correlation between urban morphology, land use and urban thermal climates. It focuses on Gemmayzeh area in Beirut. Urban parameters were evaluated by developing an energy balance model with the aim of understanding how heterogeneous geometry, height, and finishing material can change the mechanical and thermal structure of the urban atmosphere. Worldwide, a percentage close to 50% of infertility cases is due to male-related problems including spermatogenesis defects, the process that determines sperm cells’ number and thus male fertility. Spermatogenesis is controlled by different hormones including the luteinizing hormone (LH), the follicle stimulation hormone (FSH), and testosterone. LH stimulates the Leydig cells to synthesize testosterone. FSH acts synergistically with testosterone. There is no current efficient treatment for spermatogenesis defects and people are reverting to natural remedies among which are the pumpkin and carob seeds. Obesity is becoming a major health problem growing in strength and prevalence. It is often associated with large array of debilitating diseases and conditions including psychosocial impairments. Morbid obesity rarely responds to conservative treatment regimens but has been successfully managed with bariatric interventions that have been achieving sustained weight loss of about 50% of excess body weight with improvement or resolution of most obesity-associated conditions. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is one of the common infectious diseases in both hospitals as well as community settings; they are recognized to be among the most serious worldwide bacterial infections impacting 150 million people globally every year. Anemia is one of the most common diseases that are associated with pollutants exposure. A complete blood count test (CBC) can determine the presence of abnormal hematological parameters and diagnose many serious preventable disorders including anemia. To assess the associations between exposure to pollutants and hematologic parameters among Lebanese inhabitants and Syrian refugees, who were exposed to toxic fumes emanating from Deir Kanoun Ras El Ain dump, a population-based study involving 679 Lebanese and Syrian Refugees living in the three villages Deir Kanoun, Klayleh and Smaiyeh was carried out. Vasectomy and tubal ligation are reliable, safe, effective and permanent methods of birth control. The objective of this study is to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding vasectomy and tubal ligation among the general Lebanese population. Descriptive crosssectional survey approach was adopted for the present study. Stratified sampling was used according to the percentage of the Lebanese population living in each governorate, in the months of September 2017 to March 2018. The present research sought to explore the differences between developed and underdeveloped countries on the Love of Life Scale (LLS). Nine samples (N =3,799) took part in the study. They were university students from Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar, Algeria, Malaysia, India, Iran, and USA. Sex-related differences in LLS were significant only in Kuwait (in favor of males) and India (in favor of females). The samples of Malaysia and U.S.A. obtained the highest mean LLS score, followed by participants from Qatar, India, and Kuwait, (males), and India, Iran, Qatar, and Algeria (females), respectively. The participants were randomly divided into two groups, the control (54) and experimental group (44). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders in preclinical and clinical dental students in Beirut Arab University (BAU) clinics.190 students were recruited from the Faculty of Dentistry at BAU: 95 preclinical and 95clinical dentistry students, and asked to fill the Ergonomic Awareness Questionnaire (EAQ). Then the students were blindly assessed by a physical therapist using Rapid Entire Body Assessment Scale (REBA) scale.Results indicated that 90% of the preclinical and clinical students are at medium to high risk of developing musculoskeletal problems.
