Effects Of Heat Stress On Some Blood Parameters In Broilers, Özge Altan, Ali̇ Altan, Meti̇n Çabuk, Hakan Bayraktar

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The purpose of the present study was to determine the effects of acute heat stress on the proportions of leucocyte components and hematocrit values in broiler chickens. Exposure of broiler chickens to 39±1 °C for 2 h at 44 d of age caused an increase in rectal temperatures, and in heterophil and basophil ratios. The H/L ratio also increased from 0.25 to 0.43. The exposure of the broilers to acute heat stress resulted in decreased monocyte and lymphocyte proportions whereas the proportion of eosinophil and the hematocrit values were not affected. It was concluded that a temperature high enough to …

Living In Seyhan Dam Lake And Seyhan River Determination Of Some Blood Parameters In Mirror Carps ( Cyprinus Carpio, Linnaeus, 1758), İbrahi̇m Cengi̇zler, Aysel Şahan Azi̇zoğlu

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This research was carried out on mirror carps ( Cyprinus carpio, L.,1758) taken from Seyhan Dam Lake and Seyhan River between January and October 1996 to determine some blood parameters. Erythrocyte, leucocyte count, leucocyte cell formulas, total serum protein and serum glucose values of mirror Carps ( Cyprinus carpio, L.,1758 ) caught from Seyhan Dam Lake and Seyhan River were also compared statistically. Different values were recorded in erythrocyte and serum protein amounts for both environments (P0.05).

The Effects Of Feed Removal During The Day On Some Production Traits And Blood Parameters Of Broilers, Meti̇n Petek

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of feed removal during the day on broiler performance and some blood parameters. Live material of the experiment consisted of 600 mixed sex day-old commercial (Avian Farm) broiler chicks. The experiment was held in six rooms with a randomly allocated control group and two treatment groups and their replicates. The birds were full fed ad libitum in the control group while the feeders were removed for three and six hours per day for the treatment I and treatment II groups respectively between the 5 ^th and 37 ^th days. Average live weights …
