Periodic paralysis hypokalemia is a muscle weakness that can be caused by hyperthyroidism due to Graves’ disease. The prevalence reaches 10% of patients with periodic paralysis hypokalemia with symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. Graves’ disease is an immune system disorder that can cause other organ dysfunction, such as autoimmune hepatitis. Currently, the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis is still a challenge for clinicians due to limited supporting examination facilities, such as SMA, AMA, anti-LKM-1. Drug allergy is a serious medical problem. Drug allergy can be defined as an adverse drug reaction involving immunological mechanism. However, it is not easy to decide whether an adverse drug reaction is an allergic reaction, and it requires a systematically diagnostic approach. Beside a thorough history taking and physical examination, there are general and specific laboratory examination to investigate drug allergy which can be done in vivo, in vitro, or biopsy. Elderly mistreatment is a preventable serious health problem that lowering older adults quality of life. Elderly mistreatment can be done by the caregiver or even the patient himself, regardless the intention. Meanwhile, defining an elderly mistreatment is still a challenge due to varied risk factors and cultural differences in each country. Those conditions result in challenges in identifying and managing elderly mistreatment. This review will also discuss screening modalities to identify elderly who is at risk or currently abused to prevent and manage elderly mistreatment properly.
