It is no secret that access to quality healthcare is difficult for citizens to achieve in the United States. Racism, discrimination, and oppression further exist at the root of compounding social problems, including limits in minority access to mental health services. The COVID-19 pandemic has also exacerbated mental health problems for young children, especially those who are already underserved and at risk. Though fibroadenomas are clinically benign in most cases, clinical research suggests that these lesions can cause diagnosis-related physical health complications and psychological distress. However, this research is limited and should be investigated further. Thus, this study aimed to explore how patients appraise their fibroadenoma diagnosis uncertainty. Additionally, this study sought to determine if a correlation existed between appraisal and decision making as well as identify the factors that influence the most common treatment decision: removal. Data was retrieved from Reddit discussions for a content analysis. These discussions were then qualitatively analyzed using codebooks associated with this study’s research questions. Findings …

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Primary care providers (PCPs) are poised across healthcare settings to reduce the leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality, cigarette smoking. However, their patients may not be screened for tobacco use and miss cessation counseling, thus increasing tobacco-related diseases, and incurring costs to healthcare payers.
PURPOSE: This project seeks to identify the documentation process in a new electronic health record (EHR), communicate efficacy barriers, administer an educational intervention regarding the new process for PCPs, and measure its impact on performance of tobacco use screening and cessation counseling.

Background: In April 2020, the University of Kentucky (UK) implemented a division entitled the Enhanced Care through Advanced Technology Intensive Care Unit (eCAT ICU) to provide tele-critical care (TCC) services in all critical care areas at UK Healthcare. The eCAT ICU at UK HealthCare was the first TCC delivery system of its kind in the state of Kentucky. Use of TCC has been associated with improved patient outcomes and decreased costs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth became an increasingly widespread service delivery model. Not all populations, however, accessed telehealth services equally. Older adults were less likely to use telehealth during the pandemic, continuing a historical trend. These usage patterns persist despite evidence that telehealth could be a helpful service delivery option for this population. Researchers have explored how theoretical frameworks explain older adults’ decisions to use technology, but there is yet to be a measure of older adults’ readiness for telehealth technology.
