Effect Of Egg Weight On Development, Bone Morphology, And Breast Muscle Histology Of Embryos From Fast-And Slow-Growing Strains, Mojtaba Vafaeinia, Gamze Turgay İzzetoğlu, Zi̇şan Servet Yalçin
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
The present study aimed to determine the impact of egg weight on embryonic development, breast muscle histology, and bone morphology of fast- and slow-growing embryos and chicks. For this purpose, total 192 eggs from fast-(Ross 308) (FG) and slow-growing (Hubbard JA) (SG) broiler breeders were used. Eggs were classified as medium (64 ± 1 g, Megg) and heavy (72 ± 1 g, Hegg) eggs. At 18 days of incubation, egg weight loss, embryo weight, embryo length, breast width and length, yolk sac weight, and bone morphometric parameters were measured and breast muscle histology were studied. The same measurements were repeated …

An experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of guava extract in the diets of quail breeders and storage time on the quality of newly hatched quails. Four hundred and thirty-two eggs were randomly distributed in a 4 × 2 factorial scheme, with the main factors being the dietary levels of guava extract (0.0, 3.0, 6.0, and 9.0 g kg-1) and the storage time (three and nine days), totaling eight treatments and 54 replicates. The egg was considered the replicate. The eggs were produced by Japanese quail breeders at 28 weeks of age that had been fed the experimental …

In Ovo Feeding Technology: Embryonic Development, Hatchability And Hatching Quality Ofbroiler Chicks, Brian Tainika, Özer Hakan Bayraktar
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
This paper reviewed the effects of in ovo feeding application on incubation performance and chick quality in broilers. Effectiveness of incubation and chick quality in commercial chicken broiler production have a decisive role in production cost as well as efficiency and are a prerequisite for sustainable production. To date, several studies have been done to improve incubation performance and chick quality, and significant gains have been achieved in this area in the last fifty years. The average hatchability and survivability in the sector have reached 85%-90% and 90%-95% respectively, and with new research, theoretical limits have been closely approached. In …
