Problem Statement: Smartphones and mobile applications (commonly referred to as apps) were first introduced in the late 20th century and early 21st century. Due to the public’s time constraints, lack of transportation, lack of medical insurance, and a growing desire for healthier lifestyles, the total global mHealth market forecast to reach 100 billion dollars in 2021 – a fivefold increase from 21 billion in 2016. mHealth apps have been successfully used for health promotion activities but barriers such as lack of knowledge and comfort in using health apps exist.

One-third of individuals struggling with constipation also suffer chronically from comorbid depression, but the evidently shared etiology has remained relatively ambiguous. This proposed study aims to analyze the role of Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR), a newly recorded neural phenomenon that causes relaxing “tingles” from unique “triggers” in a subset of individuals, in altering serotonin (5-HT) levels within the ENS to aid with both depression and constipation. In depressed individuals, reduced 5-HT has been clinically accepted as a key symptom and is frequently treated with ineffective SSRIs. Introduction: It is common practice for healthcare professionals to make judgments about a patient's motivation based on their demeanor and compliance with therapy. Motivation is one of the predictors used to determine a stroke survivor's rehabilitation potential. There are several theories and constructs for motivation; however, there is limited research applying these concepts in stroke rehabilitation.
