The potential of innovation to spur economic growth is central to determining how markets in new medical developments, such as stem cell technology, can be maximised within Europe and the USA. Promoting innovation is reliant upon nurturing technological development and at root this necessitates an effective regulatory environment. Existing academic discourse generally fragments the regulatory landscape to consider the effectiveness of discrete aspects of oversight measures and systems.
