The most important development in conflict of laws for many years is the enactment of the conflict of laws provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code.' In adopting these provisions the General Assembly did much more than to fix the law for the specific matters covered, important though these are. The General Assembly rejected one widely urged method of choice of law, and it prescribed a wholly different one. In instances in which a negotiable instrument has circulated in two or more jurisdictions courts have had some difficulty in determining whether to apply the laws of one jurisdiction or the other in determining whether the complaining party had in fact obtained title to the instrument, and in determining the rights and liabilities of the parties in respect to the instrument. Examining the Texas case Wilson v. Smith, 373 S.W. 2d 514 (Tex. Civ. App. 1963), which invalidated a testamentary trust. The trust provided for the establishment of a clinic-hospital which would apply the methods of nutrition, blood chemistry, radionics and other types of non-medical healing. The court addressed a conflict of laws issue and ultimately invalidated the trust on public policy grounds.
