In 2020 a strategic plan began taking shape from UGA Law Library, in support of the emerging strategic plans from the School of Law and the University of Georgia. This five year plan states that, "The Law Library’s overall objective is to support the Law School’s strategic goals by providing exceptional instruction, research, resources, and data analytics. The Law Library supports the University and the Law School in achieving all three strategic directions for the 2020 – 2025 fiscal years."

This 12-page strategic plan includes a detailed roadmap for the University of Georgia School of Law. Various strategic planning groups and committees worked to craft this plan beginning in 2019, and to refine and approve it over the course of 2020 when the University shared its own strategic planning documents. The School of Law shared the draft with faculty and staff by way of the law school's portal as a PDF on July 14, 2020, and later submitted the plan to the University of Georgia in October of 2020. In 2018 a strategic plan emerged from UGA Law Library, having been revised in 2017. This two year plan set a short time frame for guidance due to the expiration of the School of Law's strategic plan from 2009 in 2019. The University of Georgia as a whole was also gearing up for an institution-wide strategic planning push in 2019 to launch in 2020. This 18-19 plan from the library was more succinct than ever before, and in keeping with the previous plan iteration, generated a text version for the website and an infographic-style version for print.

Shorter and simpler than the two previous iterations, the University of Georgia Law Library's 2016-2017 strategic plan is a single page. It includes elements from the last version such as mission, vision and values. It still includes goals, but limits them to three and trims the text of each into straight-forward bullet-list objectives including: 1. Services, 2. Resources, and 3. Expertise. This year was also the first that the law library created a counter-part infographic version of their strategic plan. It is attached below as an additional document.

The University of Georgia Law Library created a three page strategic planning document to serve as their guide from 2012 to 2015. This plan was much shorter than the previous plan, with four major goals instead of five. Each goal still contained objectives, and at the start of the plan the library separately identified a clear mission and vision statement with values up front and strategic areas preceding each goal.

This 31-page booklet includes a detailed strategic plan for the University of Georgia School of Law. It was approved by faculty members on August 19, 2009 to serve as a 10 year guide for the institution. Distributed with this booklet was a letter hand-written by professor Dan T. Coenen on May 21, 2010 and addressed to members of the Strategic Planning Committee. This letter is included below as an attached document to provide context for the extensive strategic planning text.

Originally an HTML page on the old School of Law website, the Computing Services Department in 2000 crafted a thorough strategic planning document that included a mission, vision, values, description of the current environment and services, and an outline as well as extensive clarification of six goals with at least two objective for each goal. Although the footer of the HTML page suggests an origin date of 2001, the document itself was last edited in 2005. However, the author who provided this plan indicated the date was 2004.
