Decolonial Human Rights Practice: Tactics, Obstacles, And Futures, Sarah Knuckey, Anjli Parrin, Gulika Reddy
Faculty Books
Human rights advocacy takes place within a deeply unequal world. As activists seek to protect rights, they struggle against the global economic and political power imbalances that drive violations. Movements for human rights are engaged in an internal struggle as well: against a human rights ecosystem that has long favored Global North organizations at the expense of civil society in the Global South. The BYU Advocate (& Annual Reports)
"Experiential learning opportunities in law school have expanded dramatically, but pressure remains for students to graduate ready to practice. Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming education and legal practice, generating questions about how and what to teach and raising uncertainties about future employment. At the same time, big firms are interviewing students in their first semester and extending offers before or shortly after first-semester grades are out."

There is also a unit on the development of judicial review and the limitations on the scope of the Court’s actions. One major unit examines the powers of the president in both foreign and domestic affairs, and includes a section on presidential immunities. Another major …
Indian Independence, Unknown
Indian Independence, Unknown
Usher Burdick Papers
This editorial, titled “Indian Independence,” reflects on the historical and ongoing challenges faced by Native Americans due to colonization and federal policy and discusses the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ policy that allows tribes to govern themselves and gain independence from federal supervision, though it notes that full independence remains a distant goal. It addresses concerns about overprotection, undereducation, and the lack of viable opportunities for tribes to thrive economically, particularly in agriculture and ranching.

Library Research Scholars Program Spring 2026
Having quality access to education is an important factor in improving outcomes for incarcerated individuals, which includes higher employment rates and reduced recidivism. Unfortunately, incarcerated learners face many barriers when attempting to participate in these educational programs, such as high cost, censorship, and institutional restrictions. Despite the importance of continuing education, limited centralized information remains available on it or the obstacles that affect participation.
This project focuses on the broader information landscape for incarcerated learners, particularly examining correspondence education programs in the United States. This research includes an analysis of common barriers in accessing education, a review of scholarly literature …
