Report on the Territory of Oklahoma. [1543] Minority of the Com. on the Territories does not think the Territory should be organized; violates treaties; Indians do not want it; real reason for this push for territorial government is because Congress granted over 23 million acres of land in Indian Territory to railroad companies, contingent upon extinguishment of Indian title to land; Indian rights are secondary to those who support the measure.
