Lisa Godbey Wood, U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Georgia and 1990 alumna, will deliver the keynote address.

Class Of 2021 Commencement, Harold Melton

Graduation Addresses

Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harold D. Melton delivered the University of Georgia School of Law's 2021 Commencement address on May 22 in Stegeman Coliseum, with social distancing measures in place.

Approximately 215 students will be eligible to participate in this year's ceremony for Juris Doctor (J.D.), Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Master in the Study of Law (M.S.L) candidates.

Graduation Addresses

Commencement took place in a virtual format, broadcast via YouTube and Vimeo on the morning of May 16, 2020. More than 205 Juris Doctor, Master of Laws and Master in the Study of Law graduates were recognized in the online video ceremony.

U.S. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan delivered the keynote address. Srinivasan was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for District of Columbia Circuit in May 2013, after serving as the principal deputy solicitor general of the United States for two years and arguing 25 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judge Lisa Godbey Wood of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia will deliver the keynote address at the University of Georgia School of Law's commencement ceremony on May 16. Wood served as a judicial clerk for Judge Anthony A. Alaimo of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia before joining the Brunswick law firm Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford & Martin in 1991.
