This note discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms in light of Coasean irrelevance of law. An attempt is made to show that through ADR mechanisms, the transaction costs involved in the conventional legal remedial system can be done away with and reduced proving Coase's Theorem.
