Never before has the demand for safe deposit services been so great. More than ever before, Americans are turning to safe deposit companies and bank safe deposit vaults for the storage of their assets. North Carolina's 1981 Waste Management Act And Its Impact On Local Governments: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, Sarah Patterson Brison

This comment will analyze the provisions of the Act which affect local governments by restricting local acts and local ordinances. Further, this comment will examine the constitutionality of the Act as well as the remaining powers for local governments. Other states have chosen to preempt or accomodate local legislation. This comment will examine such provisions in four other states, California, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York.

The Eighth Amendment requires that the jury be given discretion in capital cases, but this discretion must be guided with objective standards. North Carolina's attempt to conform to this constitutional standard is found in N.C. Gen. Stat. §§ 15A-2000 to 2003, effective June 1, 1977.

With the present trend toward consumer activism, the legal status of boycotts becomes of paramount importance. Over the past several years, various groups have boycotted a host of products and producers including beef, eggs, wine, and infant formula, Campbell's, Libby, NBC, and Annheusar-Busch. Although it offers no comprehensive solution, the Supreme Court has finally addressed some of the questions raised by the political boycott dilemma. In NAACP v.
