Judge Sirica's sixteen chapters generally cover five topics: 1) a prologue outlining his early experiences and how he attained his position of federal district judge; 2) the first Watergate break-in trial; 3) Judge Sirica's attempt to "break" the silence of the cover-up following the initial proceeding; 4) the controversy over the production of the Presidential tapes; and, 5) the ultimate trials of Nixon administration officials for conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Judge Hunsicker was elected to the Juvenile Court bench in 1930. He was a pioneer in the changing of Juvenile Courts and was primarily responsible for much of a lasting philosophy and many lasting procedures of our present day Juvenile Court. He served in that court until 1946 when he was elevated to the Ninth District Court of Appeals. His record as an outstanding Jurist is common knowledge.

The Legal Career Of John Quincy Adams, William G. Ross

The article will discuss Adams's legal education, his early legal practice, his reasons for declining an appointment to the Supreme Court, and his role as counsel in various cases decided by Supreme Court. Adams's legal education provides insight into the nature of legal training in late eighteenth century America and the legal profession during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Finally, Adams's career at the Bar provides a means of evaluating various theses that have been advanced concerning the influence of legal training on the performance of presidents in office.

A native of Jasper County, Indiana, Lowell Baier received his B.A. in economics and political science from Valparaiso University in 1961 and his law degree from Indiana University in 1964. While practicing law in Washington, D.C., in 1967, he formed Baier Properties Inc., a Bethesda, Md., based developer of warehouses, residential properties and award-winning office buildings and shopping centers.
