Indonesia will be welcoming the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 as a multilateral agreement to create integrated regions such as: (a) a single market and production base, (b) a highly competitive economic region, (c) a region of equitable economic development, and (d) a region fully integrated into the global economy. These characteristics are interrelated and mutually reinforcing in a sense that overall development would not be complete without total completion of the previous sector. International trade cannot be separated from the role of international shipping. More than 80% of goods transported through sea from a region to another, from one Country to another Country. Since the dawn of the voyage, port cannot be separated from the voyage itself. Adequate port will ensure a good international shipping. Increasing number of international shipping also means increasing volume of international trade. With a variety of factors such as geographical factor, natural resources, and population, Indonesia should be a key player in international trade by sea. William & Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review
This Article begins by looking at how China has moved forward in embracing green technology development, the government’s role in that growth and whether its support is truly harmful on a global scale. It highlights key laws in the United States and the WTO involving trade—specifically subsidies, countervailing duties and anti-dumping regulations. An examination of recent trade cases involving the United States and China is followed by an analysis of America’s recent trade-oriented actions and legislation. A Contextualized Account Of General Principles Of International Law, Michelle Biddulph, Dwight Newman

This Article examines general principles of international law through the innovative means of comparing their use in four different, novel areas of international law—international environmental law, international investment law, international criminal law, and international indigenous rights. By doing so, the Article is able to make the distinct claim that there is no one, single methodology for analysis of general principles of international law. Rather, each area of international law tends to use a methodology suited to its policy objectives and overall characteristics as a specific area of law.
