The ‘repressive laws’ chapter focuses on typical characteristics of repressive laws, laws related to preventive detention, anti-terror laws, security and other stringent laws, and highlights (but does not discuss) other repressive laws and policies. This edited volume is a reader on human rights for the use of students of bachelors courses who undergo a foundation course on human rights, as well as for educators, human rights advocates, activists and social scientists. It consists of eight chapters written by six authors who have several years of experience in human rights education. The book has been made reader-friendly and contains relevant photographs and suggested activities.
