Museums are a public good, as they provide educational recreation and preserve cultural history, and so it is crucial that they are physically accessible to as many visitors as possible. The aim of this study was to understand what architectural features of historic house museums are the least accessible and what has been done to ameliorate these challenges. The survey used in the study was developed using the guidelines for making historic buildings accessible as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards. There is a paucity of research that explores the deaf experience within carceral settings, and a lack of large, rigorously designed studies that provide conclusive evidence of this phenomenon. Similarly, policy development regarding the abolition of, or reformations to, the corrections system in the United States rarely addresses the needs of deaf people within this system. A lack of understanding of the experiences of deaf individuals creates a barrier to the assurance that justice is provided equitably through effective, accessible services and facilities which carceral structures may be inherently unequipped to provide. This thesis investigates how and why women with disabilities are facing various kinds of barriers and challenges while accessing maternal health services. It tries to focus on the barriers in the built environment and attitudinal barriers that hinder the way of getting maternal health services by women with disabilities which they are entitled to.

A literature review discusses the major barriers which women with disabilities encounter across different jurisdictions along with Bangladesh. The literature review on the accessibility of Bangladesh and real-life stories confirms the existence of some common barriers women with disabilities face while accessing maternal health services.

However, current research and available literature for the mental health treatment and therapy practices of deafblind persons and their families is limited (Kyzar et al., 2016; “WFDB Global Report 2018,” n.d.). Employment has long been a serious, far-reaching social problem within the deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) population. To unearth potential issues that contribute to such a problem, I conducted an honors capstone research on barriers to job satisfaction of D/HH employees, in which job satisfaction is a direct evaluation method of the relationship between nature of organizational structures and expectations that employees have of their work.
