An Implementation Of Bionomial-Qmf For Subband Coding Of Speech, Feng Chen
An Implementation Of Bionomial-Qmf For Subband Coding Of Speech, Feng Chen
Theses
A real-time subband speech codec is implemented by the author on TMS320C25 digital signal processor based hardware for speech compression down to 0.25 bit per sample.
The Binomial Quadrature Mirror Filters (B-QMFs) are employed as the basic block for the hierarchical, dynamic tree, analysis/synthesis filter bank. After the analysis, available bits are optimally allocated among subbands. Band statistics are updated to overcome the nonstationarities of speech signal.
The energy compaction performance of this codec is compared with different subband and DCT in simulations for speech signals and AR(1) source models.
It is shown that the speech codec implemented provides an …
Development Of A Classification And Coding System For Computer-Aided Process Planning, Shilpan K. Patel
Development Of A Classification And Coding System For Computer-Aided Process Planning, Shilpan K. Patel
Theses
The chore of this work was to develop a Group Technology Classification Code which can represent the full gamut of simple, rotational parts. The automated coding plan is developed to alleviate the endeavor of the process planner to plan the tasks related to the manufacturing of a specific part. The 15 digits were devised from the Japanese KK-3 Classification and Coding system. The KK-3 System contains 21 digits. Our aim is to minimize the code length, and concurrently to eliminate the redundancies. As a result, a 15 digit G.T. Code is created. The proposed plan also generates the operation logic …
Multiresolution Techniques : Laplacian Pyramid Coding And Its Comparison With Subband Coding, Danmei Chang
Multiresolution Techniques : Laplacian Pyramid Coding And Its Comparison With Subband Coding, Danmei Chang
Theses
The multiresolution pyramid and related structures have been developed as intermediate representations between the purely frequency domain and purely spatial domain. In this thesis. we discuss two important pyramid structures which are often used in multiresolution representation: Laplacian pyramid and subband coding.
Laplacian pyramid. a typical pyramid structure, is studied in detail. By means of software implementation. we obtain a comprehensive understanding of its features and applications in image representation and data compression. Several modifications of pyramid structure are used to compress the data dynamic range, reduce the computational complexity and improve performance. Performance of the conventional Laplacian pyramid and …
