The purpose of this study was to analyze the educational experiences and views of Jesse Stuart through selected writings, speeches, and the educational positions that he held. Stuart, over a time span of fifty years, held over nine different educational positions. Purpose. The purpose of the study was to identify criteria for the use by public school administrators and their staffs in conducting matters pertaining to professional negotiations and to analyze opinions of Tennessee public school superintendents toward selected criteria. Purpose of Study. Disagreement was prevalent as American school boards and teacher associations attempted to reach consensus on what items should be negotiated at the collective bargaining table. This struggle to reach consensus clearly suggested an uncompromising need for additional research related to this perplexing problem. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze those items in educational collective negotiations that Here viewed by Kentucky school board chairpersons and Kentucky teacher association presidents as negotiable items suitable for the negotiation process.(Abstract shortened.)

The purpose of this study was to provide a model for California unified school districts to establish minimal competencies and to provide added direction, guidance and support to those districts that had already adopted them. The model was based on a consensus of selected unified · school districts throughout California. It sought to establish a step-by-step process which any school district could follow. This project presents a proposed policy handbook to the board of directors of the Union Gap School District which will replace the present outdated handbook. Prior to writing the new policies, a review was made of educational literature on policy development, the Union Gap School District's board minutes, and surrounding school districts policy handbooks. The policies from the surrounding school districts were categorized according to subject matter, and, utilizing these policies along with a close communication with the school board and the superintendent, new policies were developed that would meet the unique needs of the Union Gap School District.

Originated by current demands for accountability in schools and resultant appeals for a return to the use of scholastic feedback, this study investigated the effects of feedback in light of certain characteristics of learning, and in light of student characteristics such as ability, age, and sex. The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of specific informational feedback on hierarchical learning in a controlled laboratory setting, using the experimental controls inherent in identical twins. The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children/Revised (WISC-R) was used “unconventionally” as a series of discrete hierarchical learning tasks subject to concise experimental manipulation. Possible …

This study is concerned with defining the principalship of Seventh-day Adventist elementary schools in the south western United States. Specific attention was given to the areas of academic and professional training and experience; membership in professional organizations and professional growth activities; perceptions about the improvement of the SDA elementary principalship; suggestions for the improvement of graduate study programs in education administration in Seventh-day Adventist colleges and universities.
