Purpose. The problem of this study was to assess the effects of four proxemic zones (intimate, personal, social, and public) on the performance of randomly selected sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students from East Tennessee State University Laboratory School. Method. Literature was reviewed in order to define the concept of proxemics, to present evidence of the Importance of proxemics in human cultures, and to provide specific educational research findings dealing with the concept of proxemics. The purpose of the study was to determine whether there were statistically significant relationships between selected personal characteristics of school board members of the First Development District of Tennessee and the relative importance those board members assigned to selected problem areas in education. According to Klieforth (1969), "technology, business, industry, communications, and other factors affecting our economic life are changing rapidly. Our educational system must keep up with these changes and prepare our youth for the world of work." Although many of our young people will desire a four-year degree (and in some cases, higher degrees), many are inclined toward a shorter, formal post-secondary education.

The purpose of this research project was to determine whether junior high school age adolescents and. their fathers could accurately predict mothers' personality traits on the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis (T-JTA) inventory. The relative accuracy of prediction was also determined for gender and average versus superior intellectual ability of junior high school students.

The 1969 through 1976 graduating classes of the business education program at Utah State University were surveyed in this study. The questionnaire was designed to ascertain the work experience of the graduates, the educational status of the graduates, and the value the graduates place on the courses contained in the business education program according to the occupations of the graduates.

Graduates are employed in a large variety of occupations, and the majority of the graduates hold teaching certificates. The majority of the graduates have not completed advanced degrees, and are undecided as to whether or not they will continue their …
