All Master's Theses
In 1969 a questionnaire was sent to all Idaho high schools concerning girls’ athletic programs and the attitudes of girls’ physical education teachers toward athletics. Eighty-seven percent of the questionnaires were returned, an indication of high interest in the subject area. Results showed moderate participation in most team sports and low participation in most individual sports. Teachers demonstrated favorable attitudes toward girls’ interscholastic athletics and indicated a need for enlarged programs. Money, facilities, and qualified coaches and officials were viewed as major concerns of girls’ programs.

Educators have a responsibility to provide a physical education program for the socially maladjusted and emotionally disturbed. Some authorities recognize the problems and special handicaps of the socially maladjusted and emotionally disturbed students and recommend experimental variations in teaching methods from traditional methodology. A Comparative Study Of How Parents From Different Social Classes Perceive School Health Services, John Joseph Pelizza
Health, Exercise, and Sports Sciences ETDs
This study was designed to determine attitudes of parents from three different social classes toward school health services. The social class status of parents was determined by the use of Duncan's Social Class Index. This Index, consisting of four hundred forty-six occupations, was divided into a decile scale against which each parent's occupation was checked for a corresponding decile number. If a parent's occupation was not on the Index the investigator subjectively decided on a rating using Duncan's Social Class Index as a guide.

Physical Working Capacity Of Adult Men Resulting From A Progressive Aerobics Program, Gary Kaye
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
This study was designed to determine the effects of a progressive aerobics training program on the physical working capacity of adults as measured on the bicycle ergometer.

- A progressive aerobics training program does not increase predicted maximum oxygen consumption (VO2).
A Study Designed To Establish Norms For The Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test Utilizing Somatotypes, Dean A. Blevins
A Study Designed To Establish Norms For The Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test Utilizing Somatotypes, Dean A. Blevins
All Master's Theses
The purpose of this study is to develop norms for the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test in each somatotype classification as determined by the Heath-Carter anthropometric measurement. At the present time, norms exist only for the group as a whole which is comprised mainly of mesomorphs. This, of course, results in a great many endomorphs who score poorly, or not at all, and some ectomorphs who also do poorly. It is proposed that endomorphs, ectomorphs, and mesomorphs should each have their own norms.

In addition, background and situational variables were analyzed to determine if these variables had an effect on the leader behavior of public school principals.

The History Of Men's Intramural Sports At Utah State University, David A. Turner
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports
The history of men's intramurals at Utah State University has been one of improbable beginnings with unrecognized goals . It has grown to a program of very positive beginnings, and very recognizable goals.
This was done by implementing far reaching and forward looking ideas. Of Course, there were many times during the course of the departmental history when miscalculations were made; but in general, they were for the best.
The program now encompases three campus-wide leagues with some thirty to sixty teams, depending upon the sport.
