Many studies have focused on using technological devices in elementary education; however, more research is needed on the implementation of technology to improve student learning in math. The problem addressed in this study was the lack of information about how teachers implemented and used the new math software programs, Imagine Math and Reflex in their instruction and their perspectives on differences the programs made in students' math learning. Online student success rates in community colleges have continued to fall below student success rates for their on-campus counterparts. The purpose of this causal-comparative quantitative study was to determine the difference in student success between students who used a hardcopy textbook for an online U.S. history course and students who used an online textbook at an urban community college in Texas while also investigating the influence of gender and ethnicity. Despite the popularity of Facebook amongst students and teachers for personal use, the problem is a lack of understanding of how high school teachers use Facebook for instructional purposes to promote learner-learner and learner-instructor interactions.
