The purpose of this study is three-fold. Each division resolves itself into a definite problem. The first problem is to determine (1) the size and number of high schools in the state of New Mexico offering business subjects, (2) what business subjects are taught and at what grade levels they offered, (3) the number of students enrolled in business subjects, and (4) what types of office machines are used for instructional purposes.

The purpose of this investigation is to determine with what degree of certainty the achievement of freshman in the college of Engineering at the University of New Mexico can be predicted from an analysis of data available during their first semester of enrollment in college. These data are (1) high-school achievement as indicated by teachers' marks over a four year period; (2) scores made on a battery of psychological and achievement tests administered at the time of enrollment in the University; and (3) college success attained in the first semester as indicated by semester marks.

It is the purpose of this study (1) to collect and evaluate data concerning the selection and payment of janitorial personnel in New Mexico; (2) to learn whether there are any salary schedules or plans for salary advancement for janitorial services in use within the state; (3) to present those tendencies which point toward uniformity both in the selection and payment of school custodians throughout the state; and (4) to suggest, after evaluating the present conditions, certain recommendations concerning the status of the public school janitor in New Mexico

The problem of this study is to show how the present methods of teaching reading in the public elementary schools of Albuquerque, New Mexico, have developed. It is proposed to try to trace the changes in aims, methods, and materials in the teaching of reading in these schools from their establishment in 1891 to the present time, 1947. The result should give the reader a story of the historical development of the teaching of reading in this particular school system.

The steady growth in the Negro school population has brought a correspondingly increasing interest by Negro educators in raising the standard of education in the race. The educators saw the need for education association which would unite them for a common cause, that of helping to secure for the Negro child more adequate school facilities, and advancing them educationally. This study deals with a history of one such organization and its aims and objectives in fostering a program of education for the Negros in the state of Oklahoma.
