A Computer Tutorial And Simulation System For Teaching Digital Function Minimization , Farn-Shing Chen Jan 1995

A Computer Tutorial And Simulation System For Teaching Digital Function Minimization , Farn-Shing Chen

Retrospective Theses and Dissertations

This study was designed to compare student achievement resulting from learning minimization of Boolean algebra by computer tutorial/simulation program versus traditional lecture/practice instruction (manipulating actual components). Two groups of undergraduate students participated in this study and were randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group;A tutorial/simulation program for Boolean function simplification was developed for the experimental group. The teaching program had two parts--tutorial and simulation. Five topics including basic logic concepts, Boolean algebra rules and laws, and simplified methods were presented in a computer tutorial program. Simulation software and simulation circuits were previously set up ...

The Proposal And Partial Validation Of Strategies And Components For Developing Project-Oriented Activities In Elementary Science Classes In Taiwan , Shufen Ellen Wu

Retrospective Theses and Dissertations

This study was designed to secure plausible framework for Taiwanese elementary teachers to enhance their teaching technique in science. Two major tasks were accomplished. First, Strategies and Components (SC) embraced in industrial arts projects and science activities were identified by reviewing literatures. Then, six categories were adopted to distinguish these traits. Second, the elementary teachers' perspectives, in terms of importance, feasibility, and adoptability, toward these SC(s) were investigated. The second task was accomplished using self-administered questionnaire survey method to collect data related perspectives toward these SC(s). Consequently, 371 elementary teachers from the school district of interest were identified ...
