Bank Street College is committed to collaborative, systematic district reform that supports every layer of the school system so that districts are able to thoughtfully plan and implement large-scale instructional improvement initiatives to achieve maximum impact on student learning. The Bank Street Education Center “Education Center,” has developed a “Throughline” approach to district reform, designed to support districts across the system to foster conditions that enable schools to act as units of change and embed strong instructional practices through teacher leaders and teams.

In response to mandates from the United State Department of Education, Texas revamped its educator evaluation systems to better support teacher professional growth. This best practice research informs practitioners of strategies to build teacher capacity through the leadership coaching attributes necessary for effective implementation of the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS).

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has mandated school principals begin appraising teachers the new Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). Central to this new instrument is the necessity for principals and other appraisers to improve professional practice through the reciprocal interaction, open dialogue, and continuous learning inherent to coaching. The Harriet Bandy Papers consist of scrapbooks, photographs and photograph albums, yearbooks, plaques and award certificates, display boards, memorabilia, newspaper clippings, patches, programs, correspondence, and biographical information relating to Harriet “Boots” Bandy, a 1958 graduate of Winthrop. "Boots" Bandy was a legendary basketball coach in the state of South Carolina and was later inducted into the South Carolina Coaches Association Hall of Fame and Winthrop Hall of Fame.
