A focal point in educational circles today is that of improved articulation between the curriculum of the secondary school and that of the college or university. This situation is evidenced by the great amount of space given to the subject in educational literature. Concern is expressed over excessive duplication in college courses of content and experiences included in high school courses. Introduction: Since the dawn of civilization, man has wrestled with the weighty problems of government, war, science, philosophy, and religion. Perhaps no problem has taxed man's ingenuity as much, however, as that of determining and maintaining the proper thermal environment for the various activities in which he has engaged. Indeed, some sociologist believer that the satisfactory solution of this problem has often aided man in the solution of his other problems.

The purposes of this study were to determine the relative effectiveness of four different sales letter styles, the relative effectiveness of five different letterhead colors in sales letters, the relative effectiveness of two different order return forms, and the relative effectiveness of different colors in relation to percentage of sunlight in those areas where letters were received.

Since primitive travel caused few traffic problems, simple, unwritten rules of the road remained sufficient for many centuries. It is interesting to note, however, that in 396 B.C. the Romans felt compelled to write traffic laws for the city of Rome. One of these early ordinances written in 205 B.C. state that women were forbidden to drive vehicles within the city of Rome. During the rule of Julius Caesar congested traffic conditions necessitated a regulation that vehicles could not enter the city during business hours and in 50 B.C. a Roman law was passed against "trucking."

Statement of the Problem: In order to contribute to the needed knowledge in this area, this study was an investigation of: (1) knowledge, concerning consumer credit, possessed by a selected group of women, and (2) how their level of knowledge is related to (a) their attitudes concerning credit, (b) the extent to which they use credit, (c) the sources and used and corresponding interest rates paid, and (d) selected characteristics of the women.
